Seeking sufficiency through lawful provision and independence from all except Allah

Sunan at-Tirmidhi 3563

اَللّٰهُمَّ اكْفِنِي بِحَلَالِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَ وَأَغْنِنِي بِفَضْلِكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ

Transliteration

Allahumma akfini bihalalika an haramika, wa aghnini bifadlika 'amman siwak.

English Meaning

O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful provision and save me from the unlawful, and make me independent of all others besides You through Your bounty.

বাংলা অর্থ

হে আল্লাহ! আপনার হালাল রিজিক দিয়ে আমাকে হারাম থেকে বাঁচান, এবং আপনার অনুগ্রহ দিয়ে আপনি ছাড়া অন্য সবার মুখাপেক্ষিতা থেকে মুক্ত করুন।

Significance & Context

Ali ibn Abi Talib (رضي الله عنه) narrated this when a freed slave sought financial help. The Prophet ﷺ taught him this dua and said: 'Even if you had a debt equal to the mountains, Allah would pay it for you.' It combines seeking halal provision with liberation from dependence on people.

O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, goodly provision, and acceptable deeds.
