Opening supplication of Salah (Dua Al-Istiftah / Thana)

Hadith: Muslim 399, Abu Dawood 775

سُبْحانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ، وَتَبارَكَ اسْمُكَ، وَتَعَالَى جَدُّكَ، وَلاَ إِلَهَ غَيْرُكَ

Transliteration

Subhanakallahumma wa bihamdika wa tabarakasmuka wa ta'ala jadduka wa la ilaha ghairuk.

English Meaning

Glory be to You, O Allah, and praise. Blessed is Your Name and exalted is Your Majesty. There is no god worthy of worship but You.

বাংলা অর্থ

হে আল্লাহ! আপনার প্রশংসাসহ আপনার পবিত্রতা ও মহিমা ঘোষণা করছি, আপনার নাম বড়ই বরকতময়, আপনার মহিমা অতি উচ্চ। আর আপনি ছাড়া অন্য কোনো সত্য ইলাহ্‌ নেই।

Ashhadu alla ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lah, wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan abduhu wa rasuluh, Allahummaaj'alni minat-tawwabin, waj'alni minal-mutatahhirin.

I bear witness that there is no god worthy of worship but Allah alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger. O Allah, make me among those who repent and among those who purify themselves.

اللَّهُمَّ اهْدِنِي فِيمَنْ هَدَيْتَ وَعَافِنِي فِيمَنْ عَافَيْتَ وَتَوَلَّنِي فِيمَنْ تَوَلَّيْتَ وَبَارِكْ لِي فِيمَا أَعْطَيْتَ وَقِنِي شَرَّ مَا قَضَيْتَ

Allahummahdini fiman hadayt, wa afini fiman afayt, wa tawallani fiman tawallayt, wa barik li fima a'tayt, wa qini sharra ma qadayt.

O Allah, guide me among those You have guided, pardon me among those You have pardoned, be an ally to me among those You have allied, bless me in what You have given, and protect me from the evil of what You have decreed.

اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ السَّلاَمُ وَمِنْكَ السَّلاَمُ تَبَارَكْتَ يَا ذَا الْجَلاَلِ وَالإِكْرَامِ

Allahumma antas salam wa minkas salam tabarakta ya dhal jalali wal ikram.

O Allah! You are Peace, and from You comes peace. Blessed are You, O Possessor of Majesty and Honour.
