Significance & Context

Within Islamic theology, a distinction is made between Maghfirah (concealing sin) and 'Afw (erasing sin entirely). This supplication, taught specifically for Laylatul Qadr, asks for the complete, irrevocable erasure of sins, appealing to the Divine attribute of loving to pardon.
