Supplication for Actively Easing Difficulties

Hadith: Sahih Ibn Hibban, Hisnul Muslim 42

Transliteration

Allahumma la sahla illa ma ja'altahu sahla, wa anta taj'alul-hazna idha shi'ta sahla.

English Meaning

O Allah, there is no ease except in that which You have made easy, and You make the difficulty, if You wish, easy.

Significance & Context

This prayer introduces a crucial theological insight: 'ease' and 'difficulty' are not intrinsic properties of a task but are subjective states dictated by the Divine. A mountain can be traversed effortlessly if facilitated by grace, while a pebble can cause a stumble without it.
