Quran: Surah Al-Isra, 17:24
رَّبِّ ارْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِي صَغِيرًا
Transliteration
Rabbir-hamhuma kama rabbayani sagheera.
English Meaning
My Lord, have mercy on them, as they raised me when I was a child.

হে আমার পালনকর্তা! তাদের উভয়ের প্রতি রহম করুন, যেমন তারা আমাকে শৈশবকালে লালন-পালন করেছেন।
Significance & Context
The Quran inextricably links the worship of God with profound benevolence toward parents. The linguistic formulation 'kama rabbayani sagheera' (exactly as they cherished/raised me when I was small) functions to systematically eliminate intergenerational arrogance. It forces the capable adult petitioner to continuously recall their initial state of total vulnerability and biological helplessness.
رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مِنْ لَدُنْكَ ذُرِّيَّةً طَيِّبَةً إِنَّكَ سَمِيعُ الدُّعَاءِ
Rabbi hab li min ladunka dhurriyyatan tayyibatan, innaka sami'ud du'a.
My Lord! Grant me from Yourself righteous offspring. Indeed, You are the Hearer of supplication.

My Lord! Make me and my descendants steadfast in prayer. Our Lord! Accept my supplication. Our Lord! Forgive me, my parents, and the believers on the Day of Reckoning.
