Significance & Context

Narrated by Asma bint Yazid (RA), the Prophet ﷺ identified the Isme Azam in two Quranic passages: Al-Baqarah 2:163 and the opening of Aal-e-Imran 3:1-2. This formulation uniquely merges absolute monotheism with the twin mercy of Ar-Rahman (overflowing mercy for all creation) and Ar-Rahim (special mercy for believers), then links them to the eternal life and cosmic sustenance of Al-Hayy and Al-Qayyum.
