Significance & Context

Based on the narration of Abu Umamah (RA), scholars including Shaykh al-Uthaymeen identify this as the Isme Azam — the common element across Al-Baqarah 2:255 (Ayatul Kursi), Aal-e-Imran 3:2, and Ta-Ha 20:111. Al-Hayy describes eternal life with no beginning or end. Al-Qayyum actively upholds every atom of existence. Invoking these paired names surrenders the management of one's entire life to the One who flawlessly manages the cosmos.
